Postgame Notes - Indiana at Louisville
• The team will now prepare for finals exams this week as the fall semester ends. The next game on the schedule is a meeting with No. 8/9 Notre Dame at Bankers Life Fieldhouse on Saturday, Dec. 16 as part of the Crossroads Classic, with tipoff scheduled for 2:30pm on FOX.
• Despite dropping its third game to Louisville in four years, IU still leads the series, 10-9.
• IU jumped out to a 12-2 lead in the first 4:50 of the game.
• The Hoosiers also led 23-13 with 7:47 left to go in the first half.
• IU outscored U of L in the paint, 32-30. The Hoosiers also led in second chance points, 18-13 and in bench points 16-15.
• Both teams finished with 37 rebounds. Each team had 12 offensive and 25 defensive boards.
• The two teams will meet again next year in Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall, to complete a three-game contract with the Cardinals.
• Junior Juwan Morgan continued his quest to be the most improved player in the Big Ten. He led the Hoosiers with 17 points and had 9 rebounds in 23 minutes. Morgan is averaging 16.3 points and 8.0 rebounds on the road this season. He is averaging 18.0 points in the last 4 games.
• Sophomore De'Ron Davis added 14 points, 7 rebounds and 3 blocked shots. Davis was 5 of 7 from the field and made 4 of 6 free throws. He has had 7 blocked shots in the last 2 games.
• Senior Josh Newkirk had 13 points and had 6 rebounds and a team-high 4 assists. With 2 more three-point field goals against the Cardinals, he has made 10 of his last 20 three-point field goal attempts over a 5-game period.
• Redshirt junior Zach McRoberts played a season-high 15 minutes and chipped in 2 points and 2 rebounds.
• Senior Collin Hartman and sophomore Devonte Green chipped in 5 points apiece off the bench.
• Senior Freddie McSwain and freshman Justin Smith each had 2 points off the bench for the Hoosiers.
