Postgame Notes
Feb. 21, 2017
• Tuesday's game marked the fourth overtime game of the year for Indiana, the most in a single-season since they played six overtime games during the 1998-99 season.
• The Hoosiers reached the 90-point mark in a game for the eighth time this season, equaling the total from last season. However, last year, Indiana only reached 90 points or more once in Big Ten play while Tuesday's game at Iowa was the third time IU has done it in conference play this season.
• The 18 assists IU racked up were the second-most in a conference game this season for the Hoosiers (22 vs. Illinois).
• IU also came away with 10 steals as a team, the third time in Big Ten play they have registered double digits in the steals category.
• Indiana made 32 field goals in the game, the eighth time this year they have connected on at least 30 field goals in a game.
• The Hoosiers also made 10 3-point field goals in the contest, the 10th time this season with at least 10 makes from long distance.
• Indiana was 16-of-19 at the free throw line (84.2 percent), and over the last two games (both road games) they are 31-of-37 at the charity stripe.
• Indiana out-rebounded the Hawkeyes in the game, 39-35. Of the 39 total rebounds IU grabbed, 16 came on the offensive glass. It gives IU 19 games with at least 10 offensive boards this season.
• Sophomore Thomas Bryant registered his eighth career double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds while matching his career high in assists (4) and blocked shots (4).
• Junior Robert Johnson was credited with five steals in the game, just the 43rd time in IU history that a player has had 5-plus steals in a single game. Earlier this season against Rutgers, OG Anunoby picked up seven steals, which is tied for the fourth-most in a single game. Johnson also led IU with 19 points in the contest to go along with six rebounds and seven assists (one turnover).
• No one in the last 20 years for IU has posted the line Johnson had against Iowa (19p, 7a, 6r, 5s). He's just the eighth player in the country to do it this season. The only other major conference player to it was Dennis Smith, Jr. from NC State.
• Junior James Blackmon Jr. registered 18 points and connected on four 3-point field goals in the game.
• Redshirt junior Josh Newkirk was the fourth IU player in double figures scoring with 11 points to go with four rebounds and two assists. Newkirk scored seven of the Hoosiers first nine points in the game.
• Junior Freddie McSwain Jr., set a new career-high with six rebounds while also adding six points in nine minutes.
