PEORIA, Ariz. – Senior Ana Sanjuan sits in a tie for sixth place and the Indiana Women's Golf team sits in a tie for 10^th overall after the opening day at the Westbrook Invitational.

Sanjuan tied her low round of the season on the second of 18 holes on the day, as she collected a 73 in the opening round and concluded the day with a 3-under 69. To open the day, Sanjuan went even on the first four holes before hitting her first birdie of the spring on No. 14. In round two, she totaled six, including the final three holes of the day.

As a team, the Hoosiers are in a tie for 10^th with rounds of 300 and 296 for a 596 (+20) in the opening 54 holes. Kansas leads the field sitting at par while Kansas State is 2-over in second and Illinois 4-over in third.

Freshman Elisa Pierre is in a tie for 35th after turning in three of her own birdies as she went even to end the day and sits five-over (149) going into the final round tomorrow. Senior Theresa-Ann Jedra went 2-over to open the day as she finished with a score of 152

Sophomore Erin Harper also used a trio of birdies to land in a tie for 54th place overall, all of which she hit in the opening 18 holes. Junior Pear Sirkio rounded out the Hoosiers' lineup with a 157 to sit in a tie for 67^th heading into tomorrow's final round. Competing as an individual, freshman Emma Fisher
