HONOLULU, Hawai'i – Indiana Baseball (7-7-1) used a two-run fifth and a three-run sixth to rally and defeat the Hawai'i Rainbow Warriors by a count of 7-6 on Thursday morning.

Seniors Alex Krupa and Craig Dedelow each led the way with two hits and two RBI apiece. Senior Austin Cangelosi reached base four times, scored two runs and also stole a base.

Junior Brandon Kelley picked up his first career victory in an IU uniform, as he tossed 2.1 innings of relief. Senior Luke Stephenson earned his first career save, striking out two in 1.1 innings without allowing a hit.

The Hoosiers got the scoring started in the top of the third inning. Cangelosi, senior Tony Butler and freshman Jeremy Houston all reached on an error, a hit by pitch and a walk respectively. Krupa and freshman Matt Gorski both successfully drove in two runs on sacrifice flies to give Indiana the 2-0 edge.

The Rainbow Warriors went on to score the next three runs. Josh Rojas knocked a solo home run in the bottom of the fourth to trim the IU lead in half. A sacrifice fly and RBI single for Hawai'i gave it the first lead of the game.

Trailing 3-2 entering the top of the sixth, the Hoosiers used three-straight hits to start the inning from Krupa, Gorski and Dedelow. After Gorski singled on the first pitch to advance Krupa from first to third, Dedelow also connected on the first pitch to drive one up the middle to score Krupa. Later in the frame, Gorski scored on a throwing error by the third baseman to give Indiana the 4-3 lead.

After Kelley tossed a scoreless bottom of the sixth, Indiana manufactured three runs with two outs the following inning. Cangelosi reached third with two outs after walking earlier in the frame. Krupa delivered a clutch RBI double to left centerfield to pad the lead to two runs. After Krupa scored on a wild pitch, Dedelow delivered an RBI double to score Gorski, who reached on a walk.

Hawai'i plated three runs in the bottom of the eighth to cut the lead to 7-6. Stephenson inherited a runner on second with two outs and got the strikeout. He retired the side in the ninth to secure the win.

Indiana and Hawai'i are back in action at 12:35 a.m. on Friday morning.
