IU Hosts Double Dual To Begin Spring Season

BLOOMINGTON, Indiana – The 16th ranked Indiana Rowing team will open the competitive spring season on Saturday at Lake Lemon in a double dual with No. 14 Iowa, No. 17 Michigan State, No. 20 Louisville and Kansas also competing.
The regatta will get underway on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. and will run through approximately 3:00 p.m. Fans are encouraged to watch the action from Riddle Point Park, which is located at 7599 North Tunnel Rd., Unionville, Indiana 47469. Parking and admission is free. If you can't make it out to the lake, fans can listen to live audio for free by clicking here.

IN THE POLLS THIS WEEK
In the CRCA/USRowing Coaches Poll that was published on March 28, the Indiana Hoosiers are ranked No. 16, just two spots behind Iowa, who will visit Bloomington this week but will not race against Indiana.
Overall, there are six Big Ten teams in the Top 20, with Ohio State (2), Michigan (3), Wisconsin (12), Iowa (14), Indiana (16) and Michigan State (17).
UNPRECEDENTED SUCCESS FOR THE HOOSIERS
The Indiana Rowing program is in the midst of unprecedented success for the program, as they have made three consecutive appearances in the NCAA Championship in 2014, 2015 and 2016. Those three appearances marked the first three appearances in the NCAA Championship in program history.
In 2014, the Hoosiers finished 11th as a team and were led by the ninth place finish of the 1V4 while the 1V8 finished 10th and the 2V8 came in 14th.
In 2015, Indiana once against finished 11th as a team with the 1V8 leading the way with another 10th place finish while the 2V8 checked in with a 11th place finish and the 1V4 registered a 13th place finish.
