SCOTTSDALE, Arizona – The Indiana men's golf team carded a final round team score of 312 and finished the 54-hole Desert Mountain Intercollegiate in 12th place with a score of 912. Jake Brown was the top individual performer, finishing tied for 45th at 10-over par after his final round 77.
Brown had just one birdie on his round, but did register his second eagle of the tournament – tied for the most in the field over the three rounds. He was even par entering his final two holes but played those two holes in five-over par to finish with a 77 and a 54-hole score of 226.
The top round of the day for the Hoosiers belonged to Brendon Doyle, who posted a 75 with two birdies on his first six holes. His overall score of 231 left him in a tie for 56th place.
Christian Fairbanks, playing just his second stroke play event of the year, was the second-best individual finisher for the Hoosiers over the three rounds, coming in tied for 53rd after a final round 79 put him at 13-over par (229).
Andrew Havill and Brock Ochsenreiter both posted 81's in their final round on Sunday and finished 55th and T59th, respectively.
Next on the spring slate for IU will be a trip back to Arizona for the Grand Canyon Invitational, hosted by Grand Canyon University on March 17-18.
