BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Hoosier track and field team will team up with Michigan State and Purdue to take on a handful of teams from the Atlantic Coastal Conference. The ACC will be represented by Louisville, Notre Dame and Pittsburgh.
Day one of the meet will feature the hammer throws for both the men and women. The women's hammer start competition at 2:30 p.m. ET. Both Nakel McClinton and Nycia Ford will throw for the Hoosiers. Andrew Miller and the rest of the men's throwers will begin at 4:00 p.m. ET.
The majority of the meet will be held on Saturday. Running events will get started at noon sharp with the women's steeplechase. Once again, the meet will feature a high amount of Hoosier middle distance runners. A total of 17 IU runners will take to the start line of the 1,500m run, including Katherine Receveur and Brenna Calder on the women's side. Many of the runners will double and compete in the 800m run, including Jordan Huntoon and Kyle Mau.
The meet will conclude with the 4x400m relays. The women's race will begin at 5:20 p.m. and will feature two Hoosier teams, led by Taylor Williams and Kendell Wiles. The men's race is slated for 5:30 p.m. and will also have two Indiana teams scheduled to run.
Field events will begin at 10:00 a.m. with the men's javelin throw. Drew Ludwig will throw in his first outdoor meet of the season. Also throwing on Saturday will be recent shot put school record holder Willie Morrison. He broke the school record last weekend at the Tennessee Relays. Morrison will join teammate David Schall in both the shot put and discus competition.
Adam Coulon will make his Hoosier outdoor debut in the men's pole vault. On the women's side, Rachel Mather and Sydney Clute will jump. Clute holds the school record with a mark of 4.55m (14-11) in the event. She will aim to continue her successful season in hopes to break the 15-foot barrier.
