Indiana held off weekend hosts Brown before a high-scoring effort against Saint Francis
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The No. 14 Indiana Hoosiers entered the final conference weekend with one goal in mind: win out and secure the best possible seed for the upcoming CWPA Championship. They're off to the right start in the weekend finale at Brown University, as Indiana (17-8, 4-2) left the pool with a 10-6 win over the hosting Bears and a 19-6 victory in their first game against Saint Francis.
Kelly Matthews dominated in the water with 7 goals, 5 assists, and 3 steals between the two games. Her 5 scores and 2 dishes against the Red Flash helped the Hoosiers rack up 19 goals, their highest single-game total in two years (4/12/15 vs. George Washington). Mollie Williams added to her darling freshman season with two more hat tricks, continuing her form from the pair of four-goal performances last weekend. Jessica Gaudreault held the line and began the attack from the cage with 10 saves and 4 assists over seven periods.

Williams capped her hat trick on the Hoosiers' run-ending eighth goal. The freshman also scored the first goal of the second period and again on a five-meter penalty conversion late in the first half.

Gillian Gatecliff, one of Indiana's five players with one score, notched her first career goal in the win.
A new set of faces led the Hoosiers in the assist column. Emily Powell tossed 3 dishes, a new career high, to add to her third goal of the season. Bronwyn Smith also posted a season high of 3 assists in addition to two steals. Myers, true to form, also found 3 teammates for assists.
Due to an outstanding effort in the pool on defense, Gaudreault was only called upon for 4 saves in her 24-minute shift. She still found time for another 2 assists in transition, moving her season assist total to 12 from the cage.
