BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana Baseball (19-14-2, 6-5-1 Big Ten) used a four-run fifth inning to knock off the Minnesota Golden Gophers, 4-0, on Sunday afternoon to earn the series win. The Hoosiers pitching staff held Minnesota to just four hits on the afternoon.
Sophomore Pauly Milto strung together a quality start, allowing just three hits in six innings while striking out seven and walking five. Sophomore Tim Herrin did more of the same, tossing three innings of relief, allowing just three hits, while striking out one to earn his first career save. It marked Indiana's third shutout of the season and second in its last four games.

Junior Logan Sowers provided three of the four runs on a home run in the fifth inning. After having a 1-2-3 first inning, Milto faced a jam in the second as two got on with two outs via a walk and a base-hit. He escaped it though with a strikeout looking to keep it knotted up at zero. Milto also faced a first and second jam in the third, and forced a strikeout swinging.
The four-run fifth inning started with a base-hit from freshman Jeremy Houston. After he moved over to second on junior Laren Eustace's sacrifice bunt, Miller singled up the middle to score Houston and give the Hoosiers a 1-0 lead. Lloyd kept the rally going with a base-hit, which was then followed by Sowers' fifth home run of the season, opening the lead to 4-0.
The Golden Gophers got the leadoff guy in the first before Milto forced a lineout and a strikeout. Then two-straight walks loaded the bases with two outs, before Milto struck out Luke Pettersen on three pitches to escape the threat.
Herrin retired the first eight he faced before surrendered a a hit by pitch and a double. He got his ninth out, the game-ender, on a lineout to Houston.
