
Women’s Golf Adds Priscilla Schmid

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana Women's Golf head coach Clint Wallman has announced the signing of Priscilla Schmid to a national letter of intent on Wednesday.
Schmid, a native of Uruguay and holds dual citizenship in Switzerland, comes to Bloomington from IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. She has competed for her home country in the in the South American Championship for three years (2012, 2014, 2015), and the South American Championship U18 from 2012-15. She also competed for Uruguay in the Pan Am Games and on the World Amateur team in 2015.
"Priscilla is the right mix of athleticism, proven tournament experience and personality we look for at Indiana," Wallman said. "She will be a great fit for our program and we are looking forward to her joining Mary and Angela in the fall."
In the past year, Schmid has earned individual medalist honors at the Tampa Bay Junior Shootout (76-75), the Greater Richmond Classic (76-75), Orange Lake Resort (72-72) and the Innerschweizer Amateur Meisterschaft (78-73-73). In addition, she posted four other top 10 finishes and holds an average of 74.5.
She joins Mary Parsons (Delta, B.C.) and Wint Phoo (Angela) Aung (Yangon, Myanmar) in the upcoming freshman class in 2017-18, who inked their national letters of intent in November.
