
IU Women’s Golf To Play In Big Ten Championships Friday Through Sunday

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana Women's Golf is set to begin play in the Big Ten Championships at TPC River's Bend on Friday in Maineville, Ohio. The three-day tournament will feature 18 holes each day with Indiana teeing off hole #10 starting at 9:24 a.m. ET.

The Hoosiers will send six women to compete towards the team score in the six-count-four format played for the Big Ten Championships:

LAST TIME AROUND
- The Big Ten Championships will get a new home this year after spending the last two championships at the Fort Golf Club in Indianapolis.
- The Hoosiers finished seventh in last year's championships where it shot a three-round score of 866. Ana Sanjuan was IU's highest finisher as she placed 15th overall (-1, 215)
- They are most recently coming off an eighth place finish at the Lady Buckeye Invitational where sophomore Erin Harper finished second overall (220).
- Indiana won the IU Invitational on April 9, where they shot an 884 to claim the top team spot. Junior Alix Kong won the individual title with her 2-under performance (214) as three other Hoosiers finished in the top ten.
- Sophomore Erin Harper notched a top 5 performance with her fourth-place finish at the IU Invitational. Harper, who shot her lowest round of 72 in the second round, finished 5-over par (221).
- Freshman Emma Fisher and senior Theresa Ann Jedra both carded 225 to tie for eighth place. Fisher shot one of the best rounds of the weekend for IU with a 73 in the third-round while Jedra posted the same score to open up the tournament.
- IU returns to the Lady Buckeye Invitational after finishing as the runner up (883) in last year's event behind winner Kent State. The Hoosiers were led by individual medalist Camille Chevalier's 213. Indiana has previously won the event twice.
- Head coach Clint Wallman is in his 13th season at the helm of the program.
- IU is coming off a fall season where they posted two top 10 team finishes at the Ptarmigan Ram Classic (7th) and Mary Fossum Invitational (3rd). They also posted one of its best single round finishes with a 283 (-5) at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown on Oct. 23. It ranks as the third best single round performance in school history.
- Senior Ana Sanjuan led Indiana in the fall season, playing in all 11 rounds for a 72.7 average. She posted a top-10 finish when she came in seventh overall at the Ptarmigan Ram Classic (217, +1).
- During the winter break, Indiana signed two for the upcoming 2017-18 season in Mary Parsons (Delta, BC, Canada) and Wint Phoo Aung (Yangon, Myanmar).
