CLEMSON, S.C. – With two of the top three crews competing in the 'A' Final on Sunday at the Clemson Invitational, the Indiana women's rowing team competed against many of the top teams in the country and held their own. The Hoosiers finished eighth as a team with the 1V8 leading the way with a sixth overall finish.

The Hoosiers came into the regatta as one of nine teams that were ranked in this week's CRCA/USRowing Top 20 – checking in at No. 20. When the dust had settled on the team standings, the Hoosiers finished ahead of No. 18 Louisville, while the seven teams ahead of them at Clemson were also ahead of them in the polls.

The 1V8 posted a time of 6:25.6 in the 'A' Final on Sunday to finish sixth out of 21 teams, just two-tenths of a second behind No. 11 Wisconsin in fifth place.

Also in the 'A' Final was the 2V8, and they crossed the line in a time of 6:49.8 to take seventh out of 21 crews, finishing ahead of No. 14 Washington State and No. 18 Louisville.

The 1V4 was in the 'C' Final and their time of 7:43.1 put them in fourth place in their heat and 18th overall.

The Novice 8 competed in their 'A' Final on Sunday and finished seventh out of 14 teams with a time of 7:33.7. And the final crew competing was the 2V4, whose time of 8:04.8 was good for third in their 'C' final and 16th out of 19 teams.

Indiana will return to Bloomington next weekend as they host the Dale England Cup on Lake Lemon. All racing will take place on Saturday, April 29.
