Brown Finishes Tied for 10th at Big Ten Championship

BALTIMORE, Maryland – Indiana redshirt sophomore Jake Brown finished the 2017 Big Ten Championship with a 3-over par round of 73 in Sunday's final round to tie for 10th place individually with an overall score of 212 (+2). The last IU golfer to finish inside the top 10 was Nick Grubnich in 2014 when he tied for seventh.
As a team, Indiana finished in 11th place after a final round score of 300 gave them a total score of 886 for the tournament. They were one shot behind Minnesota for 10th place.
Brown played his first nine holes with two birdies and one bogey to make the turn at 1-under for the round. On his back nine, he logged one bogey and a double bogey on his way to a 73. He finished the tournament with 39 pars, which was the second-most among all golfers in the field this week.
It is also the second top 10 of the year for Brown after finishing tied for eighth at the Hoosier Invitational.
Brock Ochsenreiter closed his freshman season by finishing tied for 35th with a score of 220 (+10). He closed the tournament with three birdies on his way to a final round 72 – the top score for the Hoosiers on Sunday.
Senior Andrew Havill closed out his career with a 75 in Sunday's final round to put his overall score for the tournament at 226, tying for 56th.
Redshirt sophomore Jack Sparrow logged an 80 in the final round and tied for 62nd with as core of 230. Junior Christian Fairbanks closed with an 83 on Sunday and tied for 68th overall with a score 236.
