Harper Paces Indiana Women’s Golf In Final Round of Hawkeye El Tigre Invitational

PUERTO VALLARTA, Mexico – Sophomore Erin Harper led Indiana by turning in a 73 in the third and final round of the Hawkeye El Tigre at El Tigre Golf and Country Club on Tuesday afternoon.
Harper tallied a three-day total of 221, to finish the tournament 5-over par. She rallied late in the round, finishing with three birdies in the final four holes to earn a top 20 finish. Junior Alix Kong finished up the tournament with a 76 to combine for a 229 (+13) in a tie for 42nd overall.
Senior Ana Sanjuan came in tied for 48th (232) while senior Theresa Ann Jedra came in tied for 54th as she recorded a 76 and three-day score of 235 (+19). Redshirt freshman Carolina Garrett wrapped up her play in the tournament in a tie for 65th (238, +22). As a team, Indiana finished tied for 12th shooting a 911 for the three-round tournament.
Individually, freshman Emma Fisher continued to play her best golf of the season, going even par (72) in Tuesday's closing round to finish tied for 35th overall with 227 (+11).
It will be a quick turnaround for the Hoosiers, who host the IU Invitational on Saturday and Sunday at IU Golf Course.
