BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana University Athletics has launched a new podcast this week titled Indiana Unscripted. The podcast, available for subscription through iTunes and SoundCloud, will feature a variety of guests that are involved with IU Athletics. It will give fans a perspective into coaches, students, administrators and others.
Indiana Unscripted will be produced by IU Media School student Tyler Sorg in cooperation with the Mark Cuban Center for Sports Media and Technology. Sorg is a sophomore from Fort Wayne, Ind. Each bi-weekly episode will be hosted by Jeremy Gray, the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Strategic Communications and Fan Experience for IU Athletics.
The first two guests featured on Indiana Unscripted are Indiana women's basketball junior Tyra Buss (episode available now) and Matt Englert (episode coming soon), better known as DJ Unique around Bloomington.
Buss led the IU women's basketball team to its most wins in a single season (23) in 2016-17 and earned Honorable Mention All-America accolades as she became the first player in program history to score 600 or more points in back-to-back seasons. The Mt. Carmel, Ill., native has started every game of her career and has twice been named First Team All-Big Ten and is a two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree. She has led the Hoosiers in scoring in each of the last two seasons and was the fastest player in school history to record 1,000 career points and currently sits eighth all-time in scoring (1,601 points).
Englert provides the soundtrack for a majority of Indiana's athletic teams on gameday. The Bloomington native can often be spotted playing tunes on the field prior to home football games and courtside ahead of men's basketball contests. He also puts together mixes for a number of other sports programs for their pregame and in-game entertainment.
Indiana Unscripted will release two episodes each month and not only will hit on athletic topics, but on life beyond the competitive field.
