Indiana opens weekend with fourth-consecutive top-10 opponent
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Three weekends remain in the Hoosiers' 2017 regular season campaign. The next two will see Indiana enter jam-packed weekends against CWPA conference foes. Starting off this weekend at Hartwick College, Indiana faces their fourth consecutive top-10 opponent in No. 10 Princeton. The games between the Hoosiers and Tigers are always closely contested, but this year teams will renew the Pan-American goalkeeper battle between Jessica Gaudreault and Princeton's Ashleigh Johnson.
The Hoosiers will close the weekend in Oneonta with battles against Bucknell and George Washington. All games will stream live on Hartwick's water polo page.

Pan-American Pairing
Indiana's weekend-opening game with No. 10 Princeton brings a bit of international flair to the pool. IU goalkeeper Jessica Gaudreault, who starts for team Canada in FINA competition, will face off against the starting United States goalkeeper Ashleigh Johnson.
Gaudreault and Johnson have taken opposite ends of the pool several times in the Pan-American Games, the Olympic qualifying tournament, and various FINA tournaments, but this will be just their second meeting as collegiate combatants.
Last Time: Big Ten Battle in Ann Arbor
The Hoosiers opened the CWPA schedule two weekends ago with their annual rivalry showdown against Michigan. The Wolverines utilized a fast start in the first half to prevail with an 11-6 result.
Sarah Young and Kelly Matthews drilled two goals apiece in the game, while Gaudreault tallied 13 saves.
Bracing for Bucknell
Saturday's slate continues in the afternoon when the Hoosiers take the pool against Bucknell. Last year's game between the Bison and the Hoosiers came down to the wire, ending with a 13-11 win for Indiana.
Finding that Midseason Groove
Kelly Matthews locked into midseason form in the back half of the nonconference slate and returned to her typical high scoring output. In the first 10 games of the year, Matthews totaled 14 goals and five assists; since then, the junior has added 23 goals and 10 assists to the season total. She's scored at least once in the Hoosiers' last 16 games.
It's a continuation of successful performances in the cage for Matthews' junior teammate, Jessica Gaudreault. In 12 games this year, Gaudreault has 10 or more saves. Her most recent game against Hawaii (3/18) pushed Gaudreault to fifth on Indiana's all-time saves leaderboard (655); she's 12 saves from moving to 4th all-time.
Instant Impact
The dynamic freshman duo of Mollie Williams and Joelle Nacouzi have provided an irreplaceable spark in their first few months with Indiana. Nacouzi continues to lead the Hoosiers in assists (18) with the second-most steals (29), one behind Sarah Myers. Williams is the only Hoosier with either a goal or an assist in 19-of-20 games this season.
The pair, along with rising newcomer Emily Powell, has done well to diversify Indiana's attack. Matthews, Nacouzi, and Williams have combined for 22 multi-goal performances on the year, and six different players have double-digit season goal totals.
Of Note...
• Six players have expanded their play to the international level. Jessica Gaudreault is a member of Canada's Senior National Team; Sarah Myers, Kelly Matthews, and Joelle Nacouzi have all played for Canada at the junior level; Mollie Williams and Emily Powell have played in Australia's youth system.
• IU's game with Princeton will be the sixth in a row against a top-20 opponent; their fourth straight versus a top-10 team
• Coming soon: Indiana will host the 2017 CWPA Championships at the end of the month, April 28-30 at the Counsilman-Billingsley Aquatic Center.
The Hoosiers will close the weekend in Oneonta with battles against Bucknell and George Washington. All games will stream live on Hartwick's water polo page.
