• For the fourth time in five years, Indiana was selected to the 2017 NCAA Baseball Tournament field. The No. 2-seeded Hoosiers will play in the Lexington Regional, facing off with No. 3 North Carolina State on Friday at 7 p.m. ET.
• This will be Indiana's seventh NCAA tournament appearance (1949, 1996, 2009, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2017). Head coach Chris Lemonis is the first coach in program history to make two regionals in his first three seasons as IU's skipper.
• IU is 10-11 all-time in NCAA Tournament games. Dating back to 2013, the Hoosiers are 9-6 in their last 15 NCAA postseason games.
• This is Indiana's second ever at large big in the NCAA Tournament (1949, 1996, 2009, 2013 and 2014 were automatic bids), with both of those at large bids coming in the Lemonis era.
• Since the start of the 2008 season, Indiana leads the Big Ten in wins (343) and conference wins (147). The Hoosiers have made five NCAA Regionals over that span, the most out of any current Big Ten team.
• The Hoosiers finished the 2017 regular season just one game out of third place in the Big Ten and only two games out of first place in the conference. IU played 18 games this season against Big Ten teams that qualified for the conference tournament, more than any other team participating in the field.
• The Hoosiers closed the regular season winning their last six series, dating back to the Minnesota series in April. Those six series included Minnesota, at No. 13 Michigan, No. 15 Maryland, Xavier, Penn State and at Ohio State. Indiana also won six series in a row in 2016, taking series from Purdue, Iowa, at Michigan State, Northwestern, at Minnesota and Illinois.
• Offensively, Indiana is second in the Big Ten in home runs (67, T-29th nationally), third in slugging percentage (.430) fourth in doubles (106) and sixth in hits (525). In conference games only this year, the Hoosiers were first in home runs (36) and slugging percentage (.469), second in RBI (137), and doubles (48), fifth in batting average (.280) and hits (233), and sixth in runs scored (141),
• On the pitching side, IU is first in the Big Ten in walks allowed per nine innings (2.67, 11th nationally) tied for first in shutouts (5, T-36th nationally) and is fourth in strikeout-to-walk ratio (2.53, 42nd). In league games only, Indiana finished first in fewest walks (52).
