
Tsirigos Named CoSIDA Academic All-District Second Team

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana Softball senior CaraMia Tsirigos has been named to the 2016-17 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District 5 Second Team, the organization announced on Thursday.
Academic All-District recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.
Tsirigos, who was awarded with the Big Ten's Medal of Honor last month, will graduate this weekend with a major in Sport Marketing and Management with a minor in the Kelley School of Business. A two-time Academic All-Big Ten selection, she was also named a 2016 Big Ten Distinguished Scholar.
On the field, Tsirigos leads the team with eight home runs and has 25 in her career, tied for fifth all-time at Indiana. The Atlanta, Ga. native has played in 187 games in a Hoosier uniform with 177 starts and ranks second all-time in the IU record book with 113 career walks.
