BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The design for a new 3,000 seat volleyball/wrestling arena was approved today by the Indiana University Board of Trustees.
The arena is set to be completed by September of 2018.

The indoor arena will be constructed for the volleyball and wrestling programs next to Cook Hall on Fee Lane. The 3,000-seat facility will have permanent grandstands on the east and west sides, with telescoping bleachers on the north and south sides.
Concessions and ticketing will be in the grand lobby. The arena will accommodate volleyball/wrestling events as well as special events such as summer basketball camps. Also included in the project will be volleyball and wrestling home-team locker rooms, visitor locker rooms and volleyball offices.

"This new facility is an absolute game-changer for Indiana Volleyball," IU head coach Sherry Dunbar-Kruzan said. "The state-of-the-art design will offer our fans a better experience to watch the best conference in the nation each weekend. Our student-athletes will also benefit by having a beautiful new space that is their own. We no longer have to take a back seat to any other program in terms of facilities. I want to thank the IU Board of Trustees, Vice President and Director of Athletics Fred Glass and everyone who helped bring this arena to fruition."

"We are excited about this new arena," IU head coach Duane Goldman said. "Moving our facility in close proximity to the other IU athletics facilities will make for a great atmosphere for fans to come see us compete."
