LEXINGTON, Ky. – Indiana baseball (33-23-2) fell to the N.C. State Wolfpack, 7-6, in 12 innings in its Lexington NCAA Regional opener on Friday night. The Hoosiers will now face Ohio University at noon on Saturday.

Senior Tony Butler, junior Logan Sowers and sophomore Luke Miller each tallied two hits in the loss. Miller drove in two runs, reached base four times and scored four runs. Sowers also drove in two runs, while seniors Craig Dedelow and Alex Krupa each had an RBI as well.

Sophomore Pauly Milto started and scattered four runs and seven hits over six innings while striking out a career-high nine batters.

After Milto surrendered a run in the top of the first, Indiana rebounded with a three-spot in the bottom half of the inning. The Hoosiers got three consecutive doubles from Butler, Lloyd and Miller to start things off. Miller's double scored two runs and an RBI fielder's choice by Krupa scored him to make it a 3-1 game.

The Wolfpack cut the lead to one run in the second, but Indiana got the lead back up to two runs in the bottom of the third. Miller and Dedelow each worked two-out walks, which led to a double down the left field line by Sowers to score Miller, making the score 4-2 in favor of IU.

N.C. State struck back quickly in the fourth inning. After leadoff hitter Brett Kinneman singled, Will Wilson homered to left field to knot the game up at four runs apiece.

Miller worked a one-out single up the middle in the fifth inning and then advanced to second on a wild pitch. With two outs, Sowers doubled again down the left field line to score Miller to put the Hoosiers ahead, 5-4.

N.C. State's Joe Dunand tied the game up at five in the top of the eighth on a solo home run.

In the top of the 12^th, the Wolfpack's first two hitters reached on a base-hit and an error to put runners on the corners. A one-out wild pitch plated one run and an RBI single by Brad Debo extended the lead to two runs.

Miller reached on a two-out walk in the bottom of the frame. Dedelow flared a triple to left field to score Miller. Indiana sent the winning run to the plate, but a strikeout ended the game.
