Indiana Falls to Kentucky in Lexington NCAA Regional, 14-9

In their last career games, seniors Tony Butler, Craig Dedelow and Austin Cangelosi each had two hits and a home run. Junior Logan Sowers also had two hits and a home run in the loss. Junior Chris Lowe and sophomore Luke Miller each had an RBI and hit as well.
Both teams exchanged a run in the first, as Riley Mahan worked a two-out, RBI single through the right side to give the Wildcats a 1-0 lead. Butler answered with his fourth home run of the season on the first pitch he saw to tie the game up.
Marcus Carson knocked out a solo shot in the top of the second to give the Wildcats a 2-1 edge.
With one out in the top of the fourth inning, Kole Cottam hit a solo shot to center field. Then following a walk and base-hit, Connor Heady drove in Kentucky's fourth run to give the host school a 4-1 advantage.
A six-run sixth inning started with a one-out hit by pitch and a ground rule double to give Kentucky runners on second and third. A two-run double by Tristan Pompey extended the lead to 6-1 before Riley Mahan hit a grand slam to make it a nine-run game.
In the bottom of the seventh, Sowers led off with a solo home run to right field. After senior Alex Krupa was hit by a pitch, Cangelosi homered to centerfield to make the score 10-4 in favor of Kentucky.
The Wildcats plated a four-spot in the eighth inning, before Indiana attempted to rally in the ninth. With one out, junior Laren Eustace worked a one-out walk. Butler reached base on a hit by pitch with two outs, and Lowe singled up the middle to plate a fifth run for the Hoosiers. Miller cracked a two-run single before Dedelow hit a two-run shot in the final at bat of his career to make it 14-9.
