Big Ten Announces Indiana Women’s Basketball Conference Dates

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Big Ten Conference has announced the dates for the upcoming 2017-18 women's basketball league schedule.
"The Big Ten schedule once again provides us with a great opportunity to play elite teams that will be exciting for our fan base to watch," Indiana head coach Teri Moren said. "We've built up our non-conference schedule to prepare us for this type of play, and I'm looking forward to the challenge and opportunity to compete in this league."
The league schedule begins on Thursday, Dec. 28 when Indiana hosts Michigan State. They will get the next two on the road at Ohio State on New Year's Eve and then open 2018 at Penn State on Jan. 3. Purdue visits Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall on Jan. 6 before traveling to Michigan (Jan. 10). The Buckeyes will make the return trip to Bloomington on Jan. 13 then visit Maryland on Jan. 17.
After IU goes to East Lansing to face Michigan State on Jan. 20, it will host four-straight home games beginning with Wisconsin on Jan. 24. Rutgers (Jan. 27), Northwestern (Feb. 4) and Illinois (Feb. 8) all highlight the home stretch.
The Hoosiers then travel to Purdue (Feb. 12) in the Barn Burner Trophy game and then return home for Senior Day against Nebraska on Feb. 17. The final two games of the regular season will be road trips to Minnesota (Feb. 20) and Iowa (Feb. 24). The Big Ten Tournament will take place Feb. 28-Mar. 4 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
Indiana previously announced its non-conference schedule that will feature seven home games in addition to exhibition play against Gannon University on Nov. 6. Admission to the exhibition game is free of charge.
Also announced, IU basketball fans will get their first look at the program up close at Hoosier Hysteria presented by Smithville on Saturday evening, October 21. An exact time for the event will be released at a later date. In addition, all times and television designations for the 2017-18 schedule will be announced at a later date.
