Scales, Fant and Lagow Named to Senior Bowl Watch List

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana linebacker Tegray Scales, defensive back Rashard Fant, and quarterback Richard Lagow were each named to the Reese's Senior Bowl Watch List on Thursday. The 2018 Senior Bowl will take place on Jan. 27.
 
"The release of our watch list signifies the opening kickoff for the Reese's Senior Bowl," said Reese's Senior Bowl Executive Director Phil Savage. "We are looking forward to evaluating these prospects over the next several months in trying to find the best 110 players in America."
"For our passionate fan base, this list is a starting point to give them a perspective of what players they could see in Mobile come January," said Reese's Senior Bowl Scouting Coordinator Patrick Woo, who put the list together with Savage and input from clubs around the National Football League.
Scales earned second team All-America honors from SI.com in 2016 and became the first Hoosiers linebacker recognized on an All-America team since Van Waiters (3rd team) in 1987. The 2016 Foster Farms Defensive Player of the Game led the nation with 93 solo stops and 23.5 tackles for loss, and he finished first in the Big Ten with 126 tackles (10th nationally). Scales owns the second spot on the program's single-season TFLs list, shares ninth in total tackles and is ninth with 33.5 career stops for loss.His nine double-figure tackle games in 2016 led the league and ranked third nationally. Scales added seven sacks, a pick-6 and one forced fumble.
 
Entering the 2017 season, Fant is the NCAA active career leader and Indiana's all-time leader with 48 passes defended and 44 pass breakups in 38 games. A second team All-Big Ten selection in 2016, the Atlanta, Ga. native topped the Big Ten in pass breakups (17, T-2nd nationally) and passes defended (20, 3rd nationally). He shared for the team lead with three interceptions (68 yards), including a 34-yard pick-6 at Florida International, and made 33 tackles, 29 solo, and one tackle for loss. The senior tallied four games with multiple PBUs.
 
An honorable mention All-Big Ten selection and IU's Offensive Newcomer of the Year in 2016, Lagow ranked second in the Big Ten in passing yards per game (258.6, 28th nationally), third in yards per completion (13.3, 32nd) and completions (19.4, 39th), fifth in touchdowns (19), and sixth in total offense per game (250.3) and passing efficiency (128.8). The Plano, Texas native tallied three, three-touchdown games and set the Indiana single-game mark with 496 yards along with three scores on 28-of-47 against Wake Forest. The 496 yards were the most the in the Big Ten and the 12th-most nationally in 2016.
