BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana Hoosiers men's soccer team is ranked No. 7 in the United Soccer Coaches (formerly National Soccer Coaches Association of America) released on Thursday.
The Hoosiers, who finished last year ranked No. 9 in the final USC Poll, moved up two spots to No. 7 in the rankings released Thursday. IU is one of three Big Ten schools, along with Maryland (No. 6) and Michigan State (No. 22), to be ranked in the poll.
Along with Maryland (Sept. 8) and Michigan State (Oct. 29), IU will face two other squads who earned a spot in the preseason rankings – Notre Dame (No. 10) in Bloomington on Sept. 26 and Butler (No. 25) in Indianapolis on Oct. 18. IU will also play Louisville (No. 9) at Grand Park in Westfield, Ind. in an exhibition match on Aug 17 at 7:30 p.m. ET.
Indiana returns six starters from last year's team who earned a berth to the NCAA Tournament for the 30th-straight season, making the program's 36th appearance in the NCAA Tournament Round of 16.
Joining the group of returners in 2017 for the Hoosiers will be a 10-member recruiting class that was ranked No. 4 in the nation by both Top Drawer Soccer and College Soccer News.
Season tickets for 2017 are now on sale at $30 for adults and $10 for ages 3-18. Children two and under are free. Each adult season ticket also comes with a $10 concession voucher. Indiana University faculty/staff and students receive free admission with school ID on game day.
Season tickets can be purchased at the IU Athletics Ticket office, by phone (1-866-IUSPORTS) or online at IUHoosiers.com.
