BLOOMINGTON, Indiana - The Indiana University men's basketball program ranked among the top 10 programs in the country in average home attendance during the 2016-17 season, finishing ninth in the country with an average of 16,363 fans per game. It is the sixth straight season that the Hoosiers have ranked among the top 10 teams average attendance in the country.

IU's total attendance in 18 home games was more than 294,000, the seventh highest total in college basketball.
Since Assembly Hall was opened in November, 1971, Indiana has ranked in the top 10 in attendance in 39 of the last 45 seasons.
IU also ranked ninth among all NCAA Division I programs with 501,269 fans seeing the Hoosiers play at home, on the road and in neutral games.
The Big Ten also led all conferences in average attendance with 12,235 fans, ahead of the Atlantic Coast Conference (11,257), Southeastern Conference (11,080), Big 12 Conference (10,427) and Big East Conference (10,104). It marks the 41st consecutive season the Big Ten has led the nation in average attendance.
