Harris Named B1G Special Teams Player of the Week

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana return specialist J-Shun Harris II was named Big Ten Special Teams Player of the Week, the league announced today. The honor is the first for Harris and the first special teams accolade for a Hoosier since Griffin Oakes was recognized on Nov. 23, 2015.
Harris delivered a 44-yard punt return for a touchdown in IU's 34-17 victory at Virginia. It was the first of his career and a career-long, besting his 43-yarder from earlier in the game. That return set up the Hoosiers second TD of the afternoon.
The Fishers, Ind., native totaled 109 punt return yards in the game, the most for any IU player in a single game since 1991. His punt return score was the first for Indiana since Mitchell Paige's 51-yarder against Michigan on Nov. 14, 2015.
It marked the redshirt junior's second game since he tore his right ACL during 2015 summer workouts and his left ACL during 2016 preseason camp.
Through two games, Harris leads the Big Ten and is fourth nationally with 109 yards on five returns and is sixth nationally with a 21.8 average.
