Freshmen Excellence Session
The first Freshmen Excellence Session of the year featured stations with both current and former student-athletes and coaches in "Hoosier 101." Some of the topics included sport psychology, the international student experience, and coach expectations and relationships. Current student-athletes spoke to freshmen about expectations coming into college compared to the reality of college, as well as their varied experiences and tools for success. This event allowed freshmen to gain a greater sense of what their first year at Indiana University will be like in addition to what it means to be a Hoosier.
Hoosier Network Event
The fall Hoosier Network Event took place on Thursday, September 14th, in the south lobby of Assembly Hall. About 100 student-athletes took the opportunity to interact with over 30 companies, organizations, and graduate schools. The companies and organizations attended from throughout the Midwest to recruit for internships and jobs. Positions available ranged from those in the focus areas of business and management, insurance, marketing and public relations, health, finance and accounting, IT and operations, sales, hospitality and tourism, and sports. It was great to have some former student-athletes return to IU and represent their companies at our event as well.
