
No. 2 Hoosiers Host Rutgers on Friday Night

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The No. 2-ranked Indiana University men's soccer team will host the Rutgers Scarlet Knights in a Big Ten matchup on Friday, Sept. 22.
Kickoff at Jerry Yeagley Field at Bill Armstrong Stadium is set for 7:30 p.m. ET., with live stats available at IUHoosiers.com. The match will be streamed live via BTN Plus on BTN2Go.com.
SETTING THE SCENE
• The No. 2-ranked Indiana University men's soccer team will host the Rutgers Scarlet Knights on Friday night at Armstrong Stadium. The match begins a home stand for the Hoosiers that includes the next four and six of the next seven matches in Bloomington.
• The Hoosiers enter Friday's contest with a 5-0-2 record on the season overall and a 1-0-2 mark in Big Ten play after beating Northwestern, 2-0, in Evanston, Ill. on Sunday.
• Freshman goalkeeper Trey Muse has played well this season, posting five shutouts while allowing just two goals with 17 saves.
• Junior Andrew Gutman and freshman Mason Toye lead the Hoosiers with three goals each, while Toye has a team-best seven points on the year.
• A pair of freshmen - Griffin Dorsey and Thomas Warr - lead IU with two assists each.
SCOUTING THE SCARLET KNIGHTS
• The Rutgers Scarlet Knights enters Fridays match with the Hoosiers with an overall record of 1-6-1 on the season and a 0-3 mark in Big Ten conference play.
• The Scarlet Knights' lone win so far this season came at Oral Roberts, 5-3, on Sept. 1. Rutgers is 0-4-1 in the team's last five matches.
• In Big Ten action, Rutgers has lost at home to No. 13 Michigan State (2-1) and Ohio State (1-0) and 3-0 at No. 3 Maryland.
• In a preseason poll conducted of the league's coaches, the Scarlet Knights were picked to finish ninth in the Big Ten. Ethan Decker, Niel Guzman and Erik Sa were all named to the Big Ten Preseason Honors List.
• In 2016, Rutgers finished with an overall record of 1-14-2 overall and a 0-6-2 mark in Big Ten play. One of the two draws on the season came to the Hoosiers in Piscataway, N.J.

• Entering the weekend, IU is ranked in the top-20 in five categories in the NCAA statistical rankings.
• Indiana is ranked fourth in team goals against average (0.26), fourth in shutout percentage (0.71), fourth in save percentage (0.905), 10th in win-loss-tied percentage (.857) and 13th in corner kicks per game (7.00).
• IU leads the Big Ten in corner kicks per game, shots per game (14.43), and shots on goal per game (6.57).
HOOSIERS START THE SEASON 5-0-2
• Indiana has started the season undefeated through seven matches for the second-straight year and for the 12th time in program history.
• The Hoosiers are looking to remain undefeated through the team's first eight matches for the 12th time in school history.
• IU's 4-0 start was the first for the team since 2004 and marked the seventh time in program history IU accomplished the feat.
