• Indiana's five sacks are the most since also recording five against Utah in the Foster Farms Bowl on Dec. 28, 2016.
• The Hoosiers had 11 team tackles for loss, the most since also recording 11 against Purdue on Nov. 26, 2016.
• Penn State's 39 rushing yards were the fewest rush yards allowed by Indiana since Aug. 30, 2014, vs. Indiana State (30). In addition, it's the fewest allowed against a Big Ten team since Nov. 30, 2013, vs. Purdue (31).
• IU has limited Saquon Barkley to just 114 yards (58 in 2016 and 56 in 2017) over the last two seasons on 53 carries, good for a 2.2 average.
• Senior linebacker Tegray Scales set a new career-high with three sacks, which is tied for fifth-most in school history. It marks Scales' fourth career multi-sack game and he now moves into ninth place in program history with 15.5 in his career.
• With three tackles for loss, Scales sits fifth in IU history with 39.0 in his career. Scales three TFLs match the third-highest total of his career and give him 12 multi-TFL career games. The Cincinnati native registered a team-high 11 total stops, with seven of those being solo, good for the 12th double-digit tackle game of his career.
• Senior defensive back Tony Fields added 10 tackles, a new career-best. Seven of his stops were solo, matching his career-high set against Nebraska on Oct. 15, 2016.
• Sophomore defensive lineman Allen Stallings IV collected his second career sack in the first quarter.
• Fifth-year senior defensive lineman Nate Hoff recorded his first sack this year in the second quarter, bringing his career total to seven.
• Junior safety Jonathan Crawford's interception in the second quarter is his team-leading eighth of his career and first of the season. Crawford added a trio of tackles, including two solo.
• Crawford earned his second career field goal block on a fourth quarter Penn State attempt and his first since Sept. 5, 2015, against Southern Illinois. Indiana's last field goal block came against Michigan State last season with a block by Patrick Dougherty.
• Senior linebacker Chris Covington contributed a career-best two tackles for loss and matched his career-high with eight total tackles, set at Virginia earlier this season.
• Fifth-year senior safety Chase Dutra added seven tackles, with six of those being solo, the most since he had seven solos against Ohio State on Oct. 3, 2015.
• Redshirt junior defensive lineman Mike Barwick Jr. set a new career-high with five tackles.
• Sophomore defensive lineman Allen Stallings IV netted his second sack in as many weeks to go along with three stops. He owns two sacks and 2.5 tackles for loss this year.
• Senior Ian Thomas pulled in a career-high 91 receiving yards while matching his career-high with five receptions.
• Redshirt junior Simmie Cobbs Jr. pulled in his third touchdown of the season and the seventh of his career in the second quarter. Cobbs finished the game with 44 yards on five receptions.
• Fifth-year senior Richard Lagow finished with 97 yards (7-of-15), while redshirt freshman Peyton Ramsey added 78 yards (8-of-17) and his fourth career passing touchdown.
• Ramsey also contributed 53 yards rushing on 12 attempts.
• True freshman Morgan Ellison rushed for 53 yards on nine attempts. Redshirt freshman Cole Gest added 48 yards on 10 attempts, both career-bests.
• Redshirt junior Ricky Brookins' 2-yard rushing touchdown put Indiana on the board in the second quarter and was the first score of his career.
• The Hoosiers won the opening coin toss and deferred. They are 4-for-4 in coin tosses this season.
• Redshirt junior Wes Martin (4th time this season), Scales (4th), Lagow (4th), and senior Greg Gooch (4th) served as today's game captains.
