Miller Breaks School Record On Day One Of The Gladstein Invitational

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Senior Andrew Miller breaks the school record in the field while the Hoosiers dominated the track on day one of the Gladstein Invitational Friday night.
Olympia, Wash. native Andrew Miller started the Hoosiers off in a record breaking fashion. Miller set a new personal best and broke his own all-time Hoosier record with the mark of 21.50m (70'6"). Miller previously held the record that he set earlier this month at the Tennessee Duals (21.38m (70'1.75").
Junior Nycia Ford won the women's weight throw with the mark of 19.20 (63'0"). Redshirt freshman Princess Brinkley finished third overall with the mark of 18.62m (61'1") and freshman Maddie Pollard finished fourth with the mark of 18.04m (59'2").
Senior Kendell Wiles and junior Riley Egbula took first and second in the women's 400m fast section. Wiles finished with the time of 55.22 and Egbula finished in 55.59. On the men's side freshman Zubin Muncherji won the men's 400m fast section with the time of 48.66.
The Hoosiers owned the men's and women's 3000m fast section. Redshirt junior Katherine Receveur led the sweep for the women, assisted by the rabbiting of junior Kelsey Harris, finishing with the time of 9:18.47, which is the No. 7 time in the national rankings. Junior Maggie Allen finished second and earned the No. 9 spot in the national rankings with the time of 9:22.56. Senior Brenna Calder rounded out the sweep with the time of 9:34.52. Junior Haley Harris and redshirt freshman Hannah Stoffel closed out the race for the Hoosiers.
Indiana University alumni (2013) and Nike athlete Andy Bayer won the men's 3000m fast section with the time of 7:54.88. Redshirt freshman Ben Veatch finished behind Bayer with the time of 7:58.83, which is the No. 2 spot in the national rankings. Veatch is now ranked in the 3000m and the 5000m (No. 1). Redshirt sophomore Kyle Mau finished third overall with the time of 8:03.10, which is the No. 3 spot in the national ranking. Mau is now ranked in the 3000m and the mile (No.4).
Sophomore Megan Grabowski won the women's 60m with the time of 7.54. In the 60m hurdles sophomore William Session won the men's race with the time of 7.93. Freshman Moses Baryoh finished fifth in the 60m hurdles. On the women's side freshman Zykeria Williams finished second with the time of 8.59.
The Gladstein Invitational will start at 10:45am EST with the men's long jump and the women's high jump. The first track event will be the women's 200m at 10:50 am EST. Admission to the event is free. Live stats will be available here.
