Indiana Set For Matchup With Purdue On Saturday

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – A rivalry will be renewed on Saturday when Indiana hosts Purdue in Big Ten action at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. ET on BTN Plus and WHCC 105.1 FM.

ABOUT THE BOILERMAKERS
Purdue is coming off a 57-35 win over Wisconsin on New Year's Eve at home. They are led by lone senior guard Andreona Keys with 12.9 points and 5.1 rebounds per game. Sophomore forward Ae'Rianna Harris adds a team-high 8.8 rebounds along with 12.5 ppg. The Boilermakers are averaging 66.9 points per game on a 43.9 field goal percentage. This will be the first of two meetings for the teams this season, as they will battle for the Barn Burner Trophy, which IU claimed last season in a 74-60 win at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall, at Mackey Arena on Feb. 12.
IU-PURDUE TAKE PART IN 'INDIANA DAY' ON FOX SPORTS INDIANA
Saturday's matchup between the Hoosiers and Boilermakers will be part of Fox Sports Indiana's coverage of "Indiana Day." The game will be featured in the 2 p.m. College Basketball "Whip-Around" portion of coverage that will cut between men's college basketball games Nebraska at Purdue and Seton Hall at Butler.
BUSS SETS SCORING RECORD
Senior guard Tyra Buss broke the Indiana Women's Basketball record for points scored on Wednesday night at Penn State. She eclipsed former record holder Denise Jackson's 1,917 points set in 1983-84 with her game-high 27 points against the Lady Lions and has now scored 1,931 career points.
BUSS AND CAHILL SENIOR CLASS CANDIDATES
Seniors Tyra Buss and Amanda Cahill have been selected as two of 30 candidates for the Senior CLASS Award, announced by the organization on Thursday. The duo is the only two players from one team on either the men's or women's candidate lists and they are two of three Big Ten women's players to receive the recognition.
ROYSTER'S CAREER DAY
Junior forward Kym Royster posted a career day at No. 12 Ohio State on Sunday when she poured in 22 points on 8-for-12 shooting. It marked the first time in her career she's hit the 20-point plateau as she also grabbed eight rebounds in front of a hometown crowd as she hails from nearby Newark, Ohio.
MORE RECORDS TO BREAK
With records set in points scored, free throws made and free throws attempted, Buss will set her sights on the steals (247) and assists (469) records at Indiana. Currently, Buss ranks second in both of those categories.

CAHILL MAKES HER MARK
Senior Amanda Cahill will also move her way up in the IU record books this season, already making her mark in points scored and rebounds. She's just the fifth-ever player to record over 1,500 points and 900 rebounds as she ranks fourth all-time with 956 rebounds and 11th in scoring with 1,535 points. She's averaging a team-high 8.2 rebounds per game and adding 13.4 points per game this season.
BENDU IN DOUBLE FIGURES
Freshman guard Bendu Yeaney posted her sixth game in double figures and has been in double-digits for three consecutive games, coming off a 13-point performance against Michigan State. The Portland, Ore. native is putting up 7.6 points and 4.9 rebounds in 15 appearances this season.
KYM'S IMPROVEMENT
Junior forward Kym Royster's play to start the season is one of the best improvements of any player in the Big Ten. The Newark, Ohio native is averaging 11.5 points per contest and has scored in double figures in seven games this season. Her +7.3 points per game this season is one of the best improvements in the Big Ten, ranking fourth among all returning players. She's also adding 4.3 rebounds from a season ago, averaging the team's second-best mark in 6.9 boards per game.
PENN PUTS UP POINTS
Freshman guard Jaelynn Penn continues to put points on the board for Indiana, as she averages 9.1 points and 5.4 rebounds through 16 games of her rookie season. She has scored in double figures five times, including a 10-point performance at No. 12 Ohio State, and ranks seventh in scoring amongst all Big Ten freshman this season. She also ranks in the top 10 amongst all freshmen in including fourth in rebounds per game and sixth in assists (2.2).
