Post Game Notes
• The Hoosiers posted their 100th win in the series against the Gophers.
• IU posted its second win of the season when trailing with under 5:00 to go. UM led 67-62 with 4:53 to go. IU outscored them down the stretch 13-4 for the win. The Hoosiers also trailed late against Notre Dame before pulling out the win.
• It was the first road win of the season for the Hoosiers and first Big Ten road win for Coach Archie Miller who is now 2-0 against the Gophers.
• The Hoosiers played without sophomore De'Ron Davis (lower right leg) and Collin Hartman (sore right shoulder). The duo contribute 16.2 points per game on average.
• IU improved to 6-0 when making 8 or more 3FG.
• Senior Robert Johnson notched a career-high 28 points. It was his eighth career effort of 20 points or more. His 7 assists tied his Big Ten career-high. He also added 7 rebounds. He made his 103rd career start tying him with Verdell Jones III among players with 100 or more career starts.
• He moved into 37th on the school's all-time scoring list with 1,196 points to surpass Quinn Buckner who scored 1,195 in his career. With his 3 3FGM he now has 198 triples in his career and needs 2 to tie Tom Coverdale for fifth place on the school's all-time list. Coveradale made 200 from 2000-2003.
• Junior Juwan Morgan had his fifth double-double of the season. He finished with 20 points and 12 rebounds and also tied his career-high with 4 blocked shots. He also set a career-high by making 3 of 4 three-point field goals. He entered the game with just 2 3FGM this season.
• Freshman Justin Smith made his second career start, and had a career-high 20 points and made 2 three-pointers, including the go-ahead triple with 2:43 to go. He made 7 of 9 shots from the field and all 4 of his free throw attempts.
• Redshirt junior Zach McRoberts made his second consecutive start and contributed 7 rebounds, including 3 on the offensive end. He also had 3 assists and a career-high 4 steals.
• Senior Freddie McSwain had 5 points and 8 rebounds off the bench. He also added an assist.
• Senior Josh Newkirk had 3 assists.
• Minnesota scored the first 5 points of the game.
• IU had its biggest lead at 32-23 with 3:41 left in the first half.
• The Gophers had their biggest lead at 48-40 with 15:19 left in the game.
