Morgan, Johnson and Hartman Honored by Big Ten

BLOOMINGTON, Indiana - The Big Ten Conference released its 2018 Men's Basketball All-Conference team and three members of the Indiana University men's basketball program received accolades.
Junior forward Juwan Morgan earned second-team All-Big Ten honors from the coaches and media. Senior guard Robert Johnson earned honorable mention All-Big Ten accolades from the league's coaches and senior forward Collin Hartman earned the league's Sportsmanship Award.
Morgan was the most improved scorer in the Big Ten, averaging 8.9 points per game more overall and 10.6 points better in conference play when compared to last season. In the last 10 games of the regular season, he has averaged 19.0 points, 7.8 rebounds and shot 57.8 percent from the floor. He had eight double-double's this season and scored 20 points or more in 10, including eight times in the Big Ten. He leads the Hoosiers in scoring (16.6) and is among the league leaders in rebounds (7.3) and field goal percentage (58.4). He averaged 17.9 points in the Big Ten play. He also had a career-high 34 points in the Crossroads Classic earning National Player of the Week honors after leading the Hoosiers to an upset win over Notre Dame.
Johnson averaged 16.3 points and shot 50.0 percent (21/42) from 3-point range in the month of February. He scored a career-high 29 points at Iowa and tied an IU record by making nine 3-point field goals in the game (Rod Wilmont vs. Northwestern, 2007; Matt Roth vs. Ohio State, 2009). He is now in 22nd place on the IU all-time scoring list with 1,401 points - 26 points behind Ray Tolbert for 20th place - and fourth on the school's all-time list with 236 treys. He averaged 14.1 during the regular season and led the team in assists in Big Ten play with 52.
Hartman concludes a five-year career that saw him overcome several injuries. He graduated in three years and his leadership and loyalty to the program are unmatched. He played 105 games with the Hoosiers and shot 35.6 percent from 3-point range during his career.
The Hoosiers open up play in the Big Ten Tournament on Thursday in New York City. IU is the No. 6 seed and will play the winner of Rutgers and Minnesota, who play each other on Wednesday night at Madison Square Garden.
