OPENING TIP
• The 118th season of Indiana basketball continues on Monday when the Hoosiers travels to Rutgers. IU is coming off a 63-60 loss to Michigan State, while Rutgers fell at home 78-76 to Purdue. IU is playing the 4th game in 8 days. It is the 3rd time in 12 days that IU has had a road game with one day prep, the only team in the Big Ten with such a schedule.
• Sophomore center De'Ron Davis, who started the first 15 games this season, underwent surgery on Jan. 10 to repair a torn Achilles tendon in his right leg and will miss the remainder of the season. The Colorado native is fourth in the Big Ten in field goal percentage (61.5%). He is averaging 9.6 points and 4.3 rebounds.
THE COACHES
• Archie Miller is the 29th head coach in Indiana men's basketball history. He won his 150th career game with the triumph over Northwestern on Jan. 14. The 39-year old native of Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, comes to IU after serving the previous six seasons as head coach at the University of Dayton, where he won Atlantic 10 Conference regular season championships in 2016 and 2017. He was Atlantic-10 Coach of the Year in 2017. He guided the Flyers to a 139-63 record (69.8) and a 68-34 mark (66.7) in the Atlantic 10. He took Dayton to the NCAA Tournament each of the last four years, with the Flyers advancing to the Elite Eight in the 2014 Tournament. UD was nationally ranked in 3 of Miller's 6 seasons (2013-14, 2014-15 and 2015-16).
• Steve Pikiell is in his 2nd year of leading the Rutgers program. He also coached against the Hoosiers when he was at Stony Brook (2011 and 2013).

• Junior Juwan Morgan continues to put together an All-Big Ten-type year. In the last 5 games, he has averaged 23.0 points and 7.6 rebounds and shot 59.0% from the floor. He had his 7th double-double of the season with 23 points and 11 rebounds against Michigan State. He had 28 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists at Illinois and finished with 25 points, 4 assists and 2 blocked shots against Maryland. He had 24 points, 7 boards and 2 blocks against Purdue. He leads the Hoosiers in scoring (16.5 ppg) and is among the league leaders in rebounds (7.3) and field goal percentage (58.5%). He is the most improved scorer in the Big Ten averaging 8.8 points per game more overall and 11.2 points better in conference play. He is averaging 18.1 points in the Big Ten.
• Senior Robert Johnson is averaging 14.1 points and 5.4 rebounds in his last 10 games. He had 21 points against Purdue and Michigan State. He had a career-high 28 points at Minnesota. He is now in 29th place on the IU all-time scoring list with 1,295 points and fourth on the school's all-time list with 217 treys.
• Junior walk-on Zach McRoberts entered the starting lineup nine games ago and leads in Big Ten games only with 2.1 steals per game. He is 4th overall at 1.8 thefts per game. He had an IU career-high 10-point effort at Illinois after posting 7 points, 3 assists and 3 steals against Maryland.
• Sophomore Devonte Green had a career-high 20 points against Ohio State. He made 4-of-5 three-point field goal attempts and had 2 assists and no turnovers in 30 minutes. He had 16 points earlier this season at Seton Hall. He had 7 points and 6 assists with 0 turnovers against Michigan State.
• Senior Freddie McSwain Jr. made his second career start and grabbed a career-high 16 rebounds against Michigan State – the most rebounds in a game for a Hoosier since Troy Williams had 19 against IPFW on Dec. 9, 2015. Of his 16 rebounds, nine were on the offensive end, tying Morgan for the most offensive rebounds by an IU player this season (12/18/17 vs. Fort Wayne). Prior to Morgan and McSwain this season, the last time an IU player had nine offensive rebounds was Tom Pritchard on 12/10/08 vs. TCU. McSwain Jr. also had eight points, one block and one steal against the Spartans.
