ABOUT THE FIGHTING ILLINI
Illinois is still searching for its first Big Ten win coming in to Thursday's game after a 73-54 loss to Purdue at home on Sunday. They are led by junior forward Alex Wittinger who averages 14.0 points and 8.7 rebounds per game. Sophomore guard Brandi Beasley adds 11.5 points per game and 3.6 assists per game. As a team, Illinois is averaging 61.4 points per game and shooting 37.9 percent from the floor.
MAKE IT FOUR
The Hoosiers are on their longest win streak of the season after beating Northwestern, 78-73, in overtime. The streak started with a 69-65 win at Michigan State on Jan. 20 and has spanned three of its four-game homestand that wraps up Thursday night.
OVERTIME WINS IT
Indiana need overtime but came away victorious against Northwestern, 78-73, on Sunday. Senior guard Tyra Buss posted a season-high 31 points while senior forward Amanda Cahill and junior forward Kym Royster each poured in 17 points in the win.
EIGHT POINTS OR LESS
Indiana has battled in its share of close games this season, deciding 12 games by eight points or less. The Hoosiers are 6-6 in games decided by eight points or less this season. Seven of those games have come in Big Ten play including the Sunday win over Northwestern, 78-73, in overtime.
THAT SCHEDULE IS TOUGH
The Hoosiers are playing one of the toughest schedules in the nation, which is currently 10th in Division I. They have faced six ranked opponents this season, including four of their first seven games in Big Ten play against ranked teams. Of those four league foes, they met three of those on the road. It's the second-hardest schedule in the Big Ten, behind Ohio State who is fifth.
STEALING ANOTHER RECORD
Senior guard Tyra Buss set her fourth school record on Jan. 27 as she picked up three steals on her way to the all-time steals record. She surpassed Kim Roberson's (2006-09) 259 steals and now has record 262 career swipes.
MORE RECORDS TO BREAK
With records set in points scored, free throws made, free throws attempted, and steals, Buss will set her sights on the assist records at Indiana. Currently, Buss ranks second in assists (512) behind Tisha Hill's 533 career dishes. Buss is also registering on the all-time 3-pointers made list, coming in tied for fourth (175).

CAHILL MAKES HER MARK
Senior Amanda Cahill set for another career milestone against Wisconsin on Jan. 24, as she grabbed her 1,000th rebound. She became the third player to record 1,000 rebounds along with Denise Jackson (1,273) and Whitney Thomas (1,090) to reach the career milestone. She's just the second-ever player to record over 1,600 points and 1,000 rebounds. She ranks seventh all-time in scoring (1,670), third all-time in rebounds (1,015), third in all-time double-doubles (37) and seventh in blocks (110).
PENN PUTS UP POINTS
Freshman guard Jaelynn Penn continues to put up solid numbers for Indiana in her freshman season. She has posted ten games in double digits this season and is averaging 10.0 points and 5.0 rebounds in her freshman season. She ranks fifth in points per game amongst all Big Ten freshmen, third in steals (1.0), sixth in rebounding and seventh in assists (2.3).
KYM'S IMPROVEMENT
Junior forward Kym Royster's play this season is one of the best improvements of any player in the Big Ten. The Newark, Ohio native is averaging 11.1 points per contest and has scored in double figures in 14 games this season including back-to-back games against Rutgers and Northwestern. Her +6.9 points per game this season is one of the best improvements in the Big Ten, ranking fourth among all returning players. She's also adding +3.6 rebounds from a season ago, averaging the team's second-best mark in 6.2 boards per game.
