BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – For the first time since the 2012-13 season the Indiana women's tennis team has started 8-0, following wins against Eastern Kentucky and Eastern Illinois on Friday at the IU Tennis Center.

The Hoosiers (8-0) started the day with a match against Eastern Kentucky. Indiana won all three doubles matches to get off to a solid start.

In singles the Hoosiers got off to a bit of a shaky start, as the dropped four first sets. Indiana did not get frustrated with the slow start and battled back in the match.

Madison Appel improved to 6-0 in singles on the season with a 6-3, 6-1 victory and Caitlin Bernard and Jelly Bozovic followed to clinch the match for the Hoosiers.

Michelle McKamey came back from a first set loss to win the next two and win her match. McKamey added a singles win against Eastern Illinois in the evening match to push her dual match singles record to 8-0. Bozovic is also undefeated in dual match singles at 6-0.

Up next the Hoosiers host Tennessee at the IU Tennis Center on Sunday at 11:00 a.m. Free pizza will be provided at the match.
