• Indiana (11-4) continues a nine-game homestand this weekend as it hosts the Northern Illinois Huskies (4-11) in a three-game series.
• Friday will be the 21st ever meeting between IU and NIU and the first meeting since March 9, 2002, a 9-5 Hoosiers victory.
• IU leads the all-time series between the two schools, 11-8-1.
• Indiana Head Coach Chris Lemonis is in his fourth season leading the Hoosier baseball program and his 24th overall year in coaching. He has posted a 113-76-2 record and has led the program to two regional at-large bids in his first three seasons.
• Northern Illinois head coach Mike Kunigonis is in his fourth season at the helm of the Huskies baseball program. A veteran Division I coach who spent seven years on the staff at Virginia Tech, Kunigoinis was named head coach of NIU on January 5, 2015.
• The Hoosiers entered the week ranked in all six polls. IU is ranked 14th by D1Baseball.com, 15th by Collegiate Baseball, 17th by the NCBWA, and 18th by Baseball America, Perfect Game and the USA Today Coaches Poll.
• Indiana is coming off an 11-1 victory over Western Illinois on Wednesday after last weekend taking two of three games from the Pacific Tigers at Bart Kaufman Field.
• The Hoosiers have some notable streaks entering Friday's contest, as sophomore Matt Gorski carries a nine-game hitting streak, while junior Logan Kaletha has reached base in 14-straight games and junior Matt Lloyd has reached in 12-straight.
• The Hoosiers entered the week second in the Big Ten in doubles (34, 28th nationally), and home runs (14, 44th nationally), and third in stolen bases (19).
• The IU pitching staff entered this week first in the Big Ten in shutouts (2, 24th nationally) and ERA (3.05, 39th nationally), second in strikeout-to-walk ratio (2.59) and walks allowed per nine innings (3.11), and third in WHIP (1.38).
