IU Women’s Basketball To Hold Season Celebration on April 8

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana women's basketball program will hold its 2017-18 season celebration on Sunday, April 8 at 1 p.m. ET inside the Henke Hall of Champions. The public is invited to be a part of the dinner and banquet by reserving a seat or table.
The event will recognize individual student-athletes who received academic and Big Ten honors during the season while presenting annual letter awards. There will also be a special recognition of Indiana's two seniors Tyra Buss and Amanda Cahill.
The Henke Hall of Champions is located on the third floor inside the North End Zone of Memorial Stadium. Doors will open at 12:30 p.m. with dinner served at 1 p.m. followed by the program.

Another Year and Senior Class to Celebrate
With the postseason still underway, the 2017-18 Indiana Women's Basketball season has been another historic one for the Hoosiers, who are 19-14 overall. IU finished seventh in the Big Ten with a 9-7 overall record which included a program-record eight game win streak. The triumphed in a four overtime win in the Big Ten Tournament over Michigan State and earned the automatic berth into the Women's National Invitational Tournament. IU will host in-state and Big Ten rival Purdue on Thursday at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall in the WNIT third round.
This season, Indiana played the 12th hardest schedule in NCAA Division I while posting a 12-5 record on its home court. It marked the sixth-consecutive winning season in Bloomington a the fifth-straight season that IU has posted double digit wins on its home court including all four under head coach Teri Moren.
Individual accolades were plentiful as three Hoosiers garnered All-Big Ten honors. Buss earned her third-straight All-Big Ten first team honors while being named to national watch lists including the Naismith Citizens Trophy Preseason watch list and the Wade Watch list. She is a top 10 finalist for the Senior CLASS Award and was a CoSIDA Academic All-District First team selection while earning three Big Ten Player of the Week honor roll accolades. Buss shattered the IU record books, breaking school records in points, assists, steals, free throws made, free throws attempted and 3-pointers made.
Cahill also earned her third-straight All-Big Ten second team honors while becoming a back-to-back CoSIDA Academic All-American. She was also a Cheryl Miller Award Preseason Watch List candidate and became the second player in school history to record over 1,800 points and 1,000 rebounds. Currently, Cahill ranks tied for sixth in all-time scoring, third in double-doubles, third in rebounding, third in 3-point field goals made and tied for fifth in blocks. Freshman guard Jaelynn Penn earned All-Freshman team honors, the first since 2014 while earning two Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors.
