• Indiana (15-4) opens up Big Ten play this weekend as it travels to take on the Iowa Hawkeyes.
• Friday will be the 149th ever meeting between IU and Iowa and the first meeting since April 17, 2016, a 6-5 Hawkeyes victory in Bloomington.
• Iowa leads the all-time series between the two schools, 76-72.
• Indiana Head Coach Chris Lemonis is in his fourth season leading the Hoosier baseball program and his 24th overall year in coaching. He has posted a 116-76-2 record and has led the program to two regional at-large bids in his first three seasons.
• Iowa head coach Rick Heller is in his fifth season at the helm of the Hawkeyes baseball program. Entering this season, he has led the Hawkeyes to the best four-year stretch in program history, winning 140 games and advancing to two NCAA Regionals.
• The Hoosiers entered the week ranked in all six polls. IU is ranked 11th by D1Baseball.com, 14th by Collegiate Baseball, 16th in the USA Today Coaches Poll and by the by the NCBWA, 18th by Perfect Game, and 19th by Baseball America.
• Indiana is coming off a weekend sweep of the Northern Illinois Huskies. After defeating the Huskies 18-0 on Friday, the Hoosiers earned a pair of 4-3 victories on Saturday and Sunday.
• IU carries a six-game winning streak heading into this weekend. Its the second winning streak of six or more games this season, as Indiana carried a seven-game streak from Feb. 17 to March 4.
• Entering this Tuesday junior Logan Kaletha has reached base in 17 straight games and junior Matt Lloyd has reached in 15 straight.
• Offensively, Indiana is first in the Big Ten in home runs (19), second in slugging percentage (.458), third in on base percentage (.380), doubles (42) and total bases (285), fourth in batting average (.286) and hits (178) and fifth in runs (117).
• The IU pitching staff is first in the Big Ten in ERA (2.66, 17th nationally), fewest earned runs allowed (50), fewest runs allowed (62), shutouts (3, T-10th), fewest walks per nine innings (2.82, 16th), and strikeout-to-walk ratio (2.85, 33rd), is tied for third in strikeouts (151), and tied for fifth in opposing batting average (.254).
