Ochsenreiter Ties Career-Best Round on Day One of Bighorn Invitational

PALM DESERT, California – Behind a stellar second round from Brock Ochsenreiter, the Indiana men's golf team is tied for eighth place out of 12 teams with a team score of 6-over par through 36 holes at the Bighorn Invitational. The tournament is hosted by Kansas State at The Canyons at Bighorn Golf Club.

The final round of the tournament will get underway for IU at 11:54 a.m. ET off No. 10 tee. Live scoring will be provided by Golfstat.com.

After carding an up-and-down even par round of 72 in the morning, Ochsenreiter caught fire in round two. He registered a pair of eagles to go with three birdies on his way to a 67 (-5) to match his career-best round, which he has now recorded three times in his IU career. Through the first two rounds, he is tied for seventh on the individual leaderboard at 5-under par.

Senior Brendon Doyle continued his strong play in the spring, opening with a 72 and then following it up with a 73 in round two to sit in a tie for 29th at 1-over par through 36 holes. Doyle has played the front nine in 4-under par and the back nine in 5-over par in the first two rounds.

Jack Sparrow was the third IU player to post an even par 72 in round one but then fell back slightly with a 77 in the second round and is tied for 44th individually.

Jake Brown logged a pair of 75's on his day and is tied for 50th at 6-over par while Ethan Shepherd is just one behind Brown at 7-over par after scores of 75 and 76 on day one.
