Brown Takes Home Big Ten Golfer of the Week Honors

BLOOMINGTON, Indiana – Indiana redshirt junior Jake Brown was named Big Ten Golfer of the Week on Wednesday, the conference office announced. It is the second time in his IU career he has garnered the weekly award from the conference after receiving the award on March 2, 2016 as a freshman.
The last IU golfer to receive the award was senior Brendon Doyle on Oct. 11, 2017.
Brown finished in second place at the Irish Creek Invitational this past weekend, his
second runner-up finish and the fifth Top 5 in his career. After opening with a round of 3-over par 74, Brown quickly rallied in round to post a season-best score of 66 in round two. That 66 also tied for best round of the tournament by any golfer. His final round 72 included a hole-in-one on the 18th hole, using a 3-iron from 226 yards away for the ace.
Brown and the Hoosiers will be in West Lafayette this weekend to participate in the Boilermaker Invitational at the Kampen Course. Competition starts with 36 holes on Saturday and 18 holes on Sunday.
