
IU Track & Field Heads to Knoxville

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana University track and field head to Knoxville, Tenn. this weekend to compete in the three-day Tennessee Relays. The Hoosiers will be represented by 52 athletes at Tom Black Track.
Day one of competition, Thursday, April 12, will feature junior Nycia Ford, redshirt freshman Princess Brinkley and redshirt senior Andrew Miller in the hammer throw. The women are scheduled to start at 4:00 pm ET with the men following around 6:30 pm ET.
Junior Jeyland Valentin and freshman Zykeria Williams will kick off day two for the Hoosiers in the 400m hurdles at 2:45 pm ET. Sophomore William Session and sophomore Dushawn Tunstall will compete in the men's 400m hurdles, scheduled to start at 3:00 pm ET.
Friday's field events will start at 3:00 pm ET with men's and women's long jump featuring junior Treyton Harris and junior Eric Bethea on the men's side and junior Aaliyah Armstead, sophomore Leah Moran and sophomore Jenna Jungels on the women's side.
Sophomore Khayla Dawson travels to Knoxville with the ninth best shot put mark in the nation, which she earned at the Pac-12/Big Ten Challenge when she set a personal record and brought home the gold with the mark of 16.72m (54' 10.25"). The women's shot put is scheduled to start at 4:00 pm ET. Dawson will also compete in the discus on Saturday at 10:00 am ET.
On the men's side of the shot put, junior Willie Morrison currently has the No. 16 mark in the nation from his performance of 18.82m (61' 9") at the Pac-12/Big Ten Challenge. Morrison will compete in the discus on Saturday at 1:00 pm ET. He will be joined in both events by junior David Schall, who will be opening his outdoor season.
Saturday's track scheduled consists of all relays. The first event will start at 12:00 pm ET with the women's 4x200m and close with the men's 4x400m that is scheduled to start at 3:30 pm ET.
Day three in the field will feature junior Eric Bethea in the triple jump at 1:00 pm ET. Bethea is currently ranked No. 9 in the nation from his performance at the Florida Relays where he came home with the bronze with the mark of 15.76m (51' 8.5"). Sophomore Leah Moran is scheduled to compete in the women's triple jump, which also starts at 1:00 pm ET.
In the vertical jumps, sophomore Adam Coulon will compete in the invitational pole vault at 11:00 am ET. The men's high jump will feature senior Paul Galas and freshman Jyles Etienne.
