
Hoosiers Set to Visit Stanford and Auburn

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana University track and field are scheduled to compete at the Cardinal Classic hosted by Stanford University and the War Eagle Invitational hosted by Auburn University on Friday, April 20 and Saturday April, 21.
Throws coach Cory Martin and a group of five athletes will head south to Auburn, Ala. for the two-day War Eagle Invitational. Day one, Friday, April 20 will feature the men's and women's hammer throw. Redshirt senior Andrew Miller is currently ranked No. 10 in the Big Ten and will start the Hoosiers off at 1:00 pm ET. Nycia Ford is scheduled to start at 3:00 pm ET. The junior currently has the third best mark in school history. She is also ranked No. 3 in the Big Ten and No. 31 in the nation.
Day two of the War Eagle Invitational will feature three Hoosiers in the discus and shot put. The men's discus and women's shot put is scheduled to start at 1:00 pm ET and the women's discus and men's shot put is set for 1:30 pm ET.
Sophomore Khayla Dawson travels to Auburn with the eighth best shot put mark in the nation, the best mark in the Big Ten and the fourth best mark in the Hoosier record books from her performance of 16.94m (55' 7") at the Tennessee Relays last weekend. Dawson will also compete in the discus. On the men's side, shot put school record holder, Willie Morrison is currently ranked No. 4 in the Big Ten and No. 17 in the nation. The junior will also compete in the discus and teammate David Schall will join Morrison in the discus and shot put.

Head coach Ron Helmer and assistant coach Andrew Poore will take a group of 14 middle distance and distance runners to Stanford, Calif. to compete in the two-day Cardinal Classic. Day one, Friday, April 20 will feature the men's and women's 800m run with four heats each starting at 9:24 pm ET, exact times will be release once the heat sheets are made public.
On the men's side senior Daniel Kuhn has the second fastest time in the Big Ten and the 13th fastest time in the nation from his performance of 1:48.20 at the Tennessee Relays last weekend. Sophomore Cooper Williams travels to Stanford with the third fastest time in the Big Ten and the 15th best time in the nation. Redshirt senior Jordan Huntoon will round out the men's 800m and he is currently ranked No. 5 in the Big Ten.
On the women's side senior Kendell Wiles ran the fifth fastest time in school history at the Florida Relays (2:05.44), which earned her the second fastest time in the Big Ten and the No. 12 spot in the nation. Junior Kelsey Harris travels to Stanford with the fourth best time in the Big Ten and the 23rd best time in the nation. Sophomore Joely Pinkston will close out the women's 800m.
Day two of the Cardinal Classic will feature three races for the Hoosiers, the men's and women's 1,500m and the men's 10,000m. The women's section of the 1,500m will have five heats with the first one kicking off at 9:16 pm ET. The men's section will have four heats with the first starting at 9:30 pm ET.
On the women's side redshirt junior Katherine Receveur ran the second fastest time in school history at the Tennessee Relays last weekend (4:16.19), which is the second fastest time in the Big Ten and the sixth fastest time in the nation. She will be joined by teammates Brenna Calder, Kelsey Harris, Haley Harris, Lexa Barrott and Hannah Stoffel.
On the men's side redshirt senior Joe Murphy travels to Stanford with the fastest time in the Big Ten and the 26th best time in the nation. Redshirt freshman Ben Veatch and sophomore Cooper Williams will join Murphy on the track. Veatch currently has the fourth fastest time in the Big Ten and Williams will be making his 1,500m season debut.
The last race of the Cardinal Classic will be the men's 10,000m featuring redshirt sophomore Bryce Millar, which is scheduled to start at 11:11 pm ET.
