Tyra Buss Signs Training Camp Contract With Connecticut Sun

UNCASVILLE, Conn. – Senior guard Tyra Buss has accepted an invite to training camp with the Connecticut Sun on Tuesday.
The two-time WBCA All-American Honorable Mention and three-time All-Big Ten First Team selection is IU's all-time leading scorer and holds a total of seven school records including steals, assists, free throws made, 3 pointers made and points per game. She amassed 2,364 career points, 574 assists, 293 steals and averaged a program high 17.5 points during her career.
"We are happy for Tyra and this opportunity to attend a WNBA training camp," IU head coach Teri Moren said. "I know she has everything it takes to be successful at the next level and we wish her the best as she begins her professional career."
In her final season, Buss set a new record for points scored with 763 and became the first player to record three-straight 600-point seasons while averaging 20.6 points per contest. She led IU with 4.7 assists, 2.1 steals and shot 42.4 percent from the floor while leading the nation in minutes played (1,479) and minutes played per game (40.0).
