KANNAPOLIS, North Carolina – Indiana redshirt junior Jake Brown used six birdies and one bogey in round two to move up 35 spots on the leaderboard and sit in a tie for third place 2-under par overall entering Sunday's final round of the Irish Creek Intercollegiate. The tournament is being held at The Club at Irish Creek with the University of Charlotte serving as the host.

As a team, Indiana is tied with Middle Tennessee State for ninth place at 28-over par (596).

Brown opened the day with a 3-over par round of 74 in round one but quickly rebounded in round two. He started round two on the ninth hole and recorded pars on his first four holes before going on to birdie four of the next six holes to play the back nine in 4-under par. Following a bogey on hole three, Brown closed his round with birdies on his 16th and 17th holes of the day to tie for low round of the tournament so far (66). He is two shots behind second place and four shots out of first place entering the final round.

The 66 is the 12th career round in the 60s for Brown and the sixth this season alone.

Sophomore Brock Ochsenreiter finished his 36 holes on Saturday with scores of 70 and 79 to tie for 27th at 5-over par.

Another sophomore, Evan Gaesser, opened with a 75 in round one and then followed that with a 79 in round two. His 36-hole score of 154 (+12) puts him in a tie for 66th.

Redshirt junior Jack Sparrow is tied for 70th at 13-over par and Brendon Doyle is tied for 75th at 15-over par.
