
RECAP: Ford Sets a Personal Record at the Spec Towns Invitational

ATHENS, Ga. – Five Hoosiers traveled to Athens, Ga. to compete in the two-day Spec Towns Invitational hosted by the University of Georgia.
Day one featured junior Nycia Ford and redshirt senior Andrew Miller in the hammer throw. Ford set a personal record of 60.74m (199' 3"), which she earned on her fourth throw. The Jeffersonville, Ind. finished second overall behind Jeneva Stevens of the New York Athletic Club, making her mark the best collegiate mark of the meet. Miller finished fourth overall with the mark of 60.90m (199' 10").
Day two featured the shot put and the discus on the men's and women's side. Sophomore Khayla Dawson took third in the women's shot put with the mark of 16.59m (54' 5.25"). Willie Morrison finished fifth in the men's shot put and David Schall took sixth. Morrison finished sixth overall in the men's discus with the mark of 53.60m (175' 10"). Dawson took eighth on the women's side.
