IU Hosts Butler for Tuesday Doubleheader

THIS WEEK'S PROMOS
Tuesday will mark Faculty and Staff Appreciation Night as the team invited teachers, professors and other staff members to the doubleheader to say thank you. The group will be recognized prior to the first game of the day.
In addition, Tuesday marks $1 hot dogs and popcorn from the concession stand.
SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
The Bulldogs are 12-19 on the year with a 3-3 mark in Big East action. Over the weekend, Butler dropped a pair of games to Creighton, but won the series finale, 2-0. Butler is hitting .226 as a team, led by Jenna Foreman (.388, 40 hits, 17 runs, 26 stolen bases) and Alyssa Lach (.258, 23 hits, 13 runs). In the circle, Alyssa Graves (1.70 ERA, 5-8, 86.1 IP) and Kaitlin Doud (3.09 ERA, 6-4, 68.0 IP) have seen the most innings.
IU leads the all-time series against Butler, 10-2-1. The last meeting came in 2011 as the Hoosiers took a pair of games. Indiana has won five straight against the Bulldogs.
The teams did play an exhibition contest in the fall with the Bulldogs winning in eight innings, 3-2.
LAST TIME OUT
The Hoosiers faced Nebraska over the weekend, going 1-2 against the Huskers. Nebraska won Friday and Sunday's games while Indiana was victorious in extra innings on Saturday.
• Freshman Taylor Lambert had a standout performance in the series against Nebraska, batting .750 in the three games with six hits and a run. In Indiana's victory on Saturday, she went a career-high 4-for-4 at the plate and scored the game-winning run.
• Sophomore Katie Lacefield also impressed over the weekend, batting .500 with four hits. She hit the walkoff RBI single to defeat the Huskers in eight innings. It was the first extra inning game of the season for Indiana.
HOOSIER QUICK HITS
• At 7-2 in conference play, Indiana currently sits at second place in the Big Ten. The Hoosiers have 14 games remaining against Big Ten opponents.
• A pair of reached base streaks came to an end Friday as sophomore Gabbi Jenkins end at 15 games and freshman Maddie Westmoreland's was stopped at 12. Meanwhile, senior Rebecca Blitz is sitting at an 11-game hitting streak.
• Jenkins has knocked five triples this season, which is third-most in the conference and tied for 11 most in the country.
• The Hoosiers now have 69 stolen bases on the year, the second-most in the Big Ten and eighth most in a single season in program history. Jenkins has 17 stolen bags, which is the second-most in the conference, while Blitz has 16, the third-most in the Big Ten.
• The majority of Indiana's scoring has come in the middle innings has the Hoosiers have scored 25 runs in the fifth and 21 runs in the fourth this season.
• Indiana is 13-0 this season when the Hoosiers leading after five innings.
• Junior Tara Trainer's 130 strikeouts this season is good for fourth-most in the Big Ten. The Lebanon, Ohio native has 486 strikeouts in her career, the sixth-most in IU program history:

WHAT'S AHEAD IN 2018
The Hoosiers have 54 games on tap in 2018, including 20 to be played at Andy Mohr Field. This year, Indiana will play 16 games against teams who reached the NCAA Tournament last season and nine against teams ranked or receiving votes in this week's USA Today/NFCA Poll.
The only remaining non-conference contest slated for this season is against Louisville on April. Other home Big Ten series left on the docket include Penn State and Michigan, while road Big Ten series left for Indiana include Maryland, Purdue and Rutgers. The 2018 Big Ten Tournament will be hosted by Wisconsin in Madison from May 10-12.
