#RowIU Headed To Fifth Straight NCAA Championship

BLOOMINGTON, Indiana – For the fifth straight season, Indiana rowing head coach Steve Peterson and the Hoosiers will be one of 22 teams at the NCAA Rowing Championships after earning an at-large berth when the field was announced on Tuesday.
The 2018 NCAA Rowing Championship takes place at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Florida from May 25-27. The regatta is being hosted by the University of Central Florida.
The Hoosiers are one of 13 programs in the country that have qualified for each of the last four NCAA Championships, which takes 22 teams each year. This year, the Hoosiers are one of five Big Ten teams to make the NCAA field, the tying for the most in conference history (2017). IU joins Ohio State, Michigan, Iowa and Wisconsin.
Indiana is seeded No. 14 in the First Varsity Eight race, No. 14 in the Second Varsity Eight race and No. 11 in the Varsity Four races.
In their first NCAA appearance in 2014, the Hoosiers finished 11th as a team and then followed that up with another 11th place finish in 2015. Then in Sacramento in 2016, Indiana came in 15th as a team before taking 12th place in 2017 in New Jersey.
