
NCAA Championships Set To Begin For Erin Harper On Friday

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Junior Erin Harper will begin play at the NCAA Women's Golf Championships on Friday at Karsten Creek Golf Course in Stillwater, Oklahoma hosted by Oklahoma State.

Harper makes IU's third ever appearance as an individual at NCAA Championships, joining Debbie Lee in 1989 and Tracy Chapman in 1988. The Dublin, Ohio will play in 54-holes Friday through Sunday with top 15 teams and the top nine individuals not on advancing teams for the final 18 holes on Monday.
The junior qualified for the NCAA Championships after finishing T7th overall with a 213 at the Madison regional. Her 68 in round two was her lowest round of the season while adding a 70 and 75 to earn her spot in Stillwater. She holds a team-low 73.03 average and picking up medalist honors at the Fresno State Classic where she scored a 54-hole season low of 211. She has two other top 13 finishes on the season and has posted 12 of 25 rounds at or under par. Harper recently finished T22nd at Big Ten Championships on April 20-22 at TPC River's Bend where she shot a 219 (76-70-73). Her season low round came in the opening round of the Ptarmigan Ram Classic where she shot a 69 on her way to a T11th finish.

Karsten Creek Golf Club will host the 2018 NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Golf Championships May 17-30. Karsten Creek has previously hosted the NCAA Men's Golf Championship in 2003 and 2011. 2018 will mark the first time that Karsten Creek has played host to the NCAA Women's Golf Championship.
Karsten Creek was built in 1994 for the Oklahoma State golf teams. It was designed by Tom Fazio and honored as the Best New Public Course for 1994 by Golf Digest Magazine. It stretches over 7,400 yards with SR1020 bent-grass greens and zoysia fairways. All of the holes were carved from the native oak trees surrounding Lake Louise.
