MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Indiana baseball (31-13, 9-8) led 6-3 heading into the eighth inning but gave up three solo home runs, eventually leading to a 7-6 loss to Minnesota in 10 innings on Sunday afternoon.

Sophomore Matt Gorski led the way for the Hoosiers, as he went 3-for-3 with a home run, double, three RBI and two walks. Junior Matt Lloyd also had three hits while driving in two runs. Sophomore Scotty Bradley and freshman Justin Walker each had two hits in the loss.

Indiana got a quality start out of junior Tim Herrin, as the southpaw allowed three runs over six innings while striking out four.

Minnesota got on the board in the first inning on a Terrin Vavra two-run home run to give the Golden Gophers an early 2-0 lead.

Singles by Bradley and Walker in the second inning, along with sophomore Jeremy Houston being hit by a pitch, loaded the bases for IU with one out. A walk to junior Logan Kaletha and a Lloyd sacrifice fly evened the game up at two runs apiece. Gorski then came through with a two-run double to cap off the four-run second.

Indiana tacked on another run in the fourth when Lloyd hit an RBI double to score Kaletha, who singled earlier in the frame. The Golden Gophers came back with an Alex Boxwell in the bottom half to make it 5-3 in favor of IU.

Gorski's sixth home run of the season came in the top of the eighth with two outs to increase the lead to 6-3.

Solo home runs by Eli Wilson, Cole McDevitt and Jordan Kozicky tied the game up at six in the eighth. Then in the 10^th, Luke Pettersen delivered the game-winning hit, an RBI single to give The Gophers a 7-6 victory.

Indiana next hosts Kentucky on Tuesday night at 6:02 p.m. on Big Ten Network.
